KY Jelly

KY Jelly was first introduced in 1917 under the brand name of Jelly Personal Lubricant and while it is believed that the letters K and Y do not mean anything they remain because of company branding. KY Jelly was originally used as a medical lubricant and was favoured over petroleum based lubricants because of its natural ingredients. KY Jelly was offered to customers over the counter from 1980 and since then it has become synonymous with sexual lubricants.

KY Jelly is not harmful to the skin and while the ingestion of the lubricant isn’t advised it has a sweet taste so as not to interfere with oral sex. Once dried, KY Jelly can be reactivated with the use of any liquid including water and it doesn’t react with latex, silicone or rubber toys or clothes.

Because it is a natural based lubricant, KY Jelly is virtually colourless and odourless except for a slightly sweet taste. This, in turn, means that it does not stain skin or clothes and is extremely easy to clear up. It can be used for the most intimate or experimental times in your sex life without fear of damaging you or your partner and without leaving awkward stains on clothes, bedding or people.
